How to Upgrade LG G4 H815/H818 to the Latest Nougat 7.0

How to upgrade LG G4 to Nougat

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. You must be on android 6.0 Marshmallow before upgrading to nougat using this method.

  3. USB Debugging must be turned On.

How to enable USB debugging on LG G4

To facilitate a connection between your device and a computer with the Android SDK (software development kit):

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps
  2. Then go to Settings
  3. Chose Developer options
  4. Ensure the Developer options switch (located in the upper-right) is turned on.
  5. Tap USB debugging to enable or disable (Enabled when a check mark is present)

Tthen tap Build number seven times.

Steps to upgrade LG G4 to the latest android Nougat

How to Install LG UP and Drivers

Download tools files from this link 

  1. Install a file named LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.2.0.exe
  2. Install LGUP_8994_DLL_v0.0.4.4.exe
  3. Install LGUP_Install_Ver_1_14_3.msi
  4. Install LGUP_Lab_Frame_Ver_1_10.msi
  5. Install LGUP_Store_Frame_Ver_1_14_3.msi

Then you need to Download firmware of your respective model from this site for your LG G4 model (H815EU, H815TR, H815L, H815P, H818P).

Upgrading Process LG G4 to the latest android Nougat:

  1. Connect your phone to the Laptop/Computer using Data Cable
  2. Start LG UP Software
  3. Make sure BIN file is ticked
  4. Click on Upgrade, then click on the BIN File line and hit three dots on the right side
  5. Go to the directory where you saved that tot file (In the video it’s on the desktop) and select it by double clicking on the file
  6. IMPORTANT: Shutdown/Close LG UP software and then open it again
  7. Now Select Refurbish and make sure BIN File is ticked
  8. Press Start
  9. After 5-10 minutes you are on Android Nougat on LG G4
  10. Enjoy the Update

Do Hard Reset if your phone doesn’t start after Update.

Having Trouble with LGUP not seeing your LG G4?

  • Take the back off your mobile so you can get at the battery.
  • Connect your mobile via USB.
  • Start LGUP, if it does not see your phone DO NOT DISCONNECT, DO NOT RESTART OR TURN OFF LGUP.
  • Take out the battery and then put it back in and let the phone restart on its own.
  • LGUP should now see your LG G4.
